Tips 4 Moms 2 B

This is a great moment for you. You’re pregnant and radiant and want to show it off, and you should! being pregnant is one of the most fascinating experiences a woman can go through. I should know I have three gorgeous and adorable kids that are my entire life!

Your body is going through changes and you are so happy with them knowing soon you will see, hug and love forever that little baby fruit of you and your husband’s love. This is the perfect time to have that moment captured for ever, but to make it even better here are some suggestions that you might want to consider.

The Good ~

  • Make sure the clothe and shoes you are wearing are comfortable enough and that would provide you mobility while making you look great.
  • If your husband and kids are participating in the photoshoot, make sure that the clothe they are wearing matches the color of your cloth or at least that they wear complimentary colors or are from the same family in different tones, like light blue and dark blue.
  • I suggest to wear earthy colors instead of vibrant ones. Remember your belly is the center of attention here!
  • Jeans with the top button off and a short shirt are great if you are on the first months of pregnancy, but might be uncomfortable if your pregnancy is more advanced so take that into consideration when looking for your wardrobe.
  • Feel free to bring all the things you want to see in your pictures like your favorite boots, hats, necklaces, jackets, sunglasses, etc.
  • Make sure whatever you wear lets your belly show.
  • You can change clothes if you wish as many times as you like, so bring different combinations that you would want to see on your session.
  • Solid colors are the best way to go when dressing for a photo session, but if your photo session is outdoors during bright light try to avoid white cloth as it has the tendency to “glow” on the pictures.
  • For make up try to go for earthy colors and soft tones for lipstick and don’t forget to bring your make-up for touch ups.
  • Try to limit the jewelry on your hands to a minimum as I might go for a nice picture of your wedding ring and your belly.
  • The NOT so Good ~

    • Avoid horizontal and vertical stripes and floral patterns ~ They might look good but not so good on your pictures especially if they are too notorious.
    • Don’t promote anyone ~ Although is fun to wear your favorite rock band shirt it won’t look nice on your personalized photo session.
    • Avoid wearing excessive make up. Extremely red lipstick might not look good in your pictures especially if you are pregnant.
    • Avoid extremely short skirts as they might restrain your mobility.
    • Try to avoid clothe with excessive amount of layers or baggie cloth as they will make you look larger but not necessarily showing off your belly. Fitted clothing is much better.

You can bring to your session all the changes of clothes you want. If you have doubts bring them all and I’ll help you out. I would also recommend you to bring any props you want to use like your favorite-can’t-live-without boots, cowboy hat, scarf, throw, sunglasses, jackets, necklaces, your cat, your other kid and husband and even your dog assuming he won’t bite me ;o)

Other things you would need is make up! a girl can’t go out without make-up! you’ll need it to retouch your face if needed. Bring a pair of flip-flops or other comfortable shoes to rest your feet in between shots.

Boys, remember to match the color tones of your lady’s outfit.

Take in consideration the location your photo session will take place and dress accordingly.
