Tips 4 Seniors

One of THE most crucial and impacting periods as a young adult is high school, then why not remember it for ever?!

My Senior Portrait package is designed to give the young adult the perfect photo session with the perfect and unique artistic album to remember your golden days with pride and a smile.

But obviously you have tons of questions to ask! don’t despair! I’m here for you ;o)

The first thing that comes to the mind of ANY teenager/young adult is what do I wear?!?! Your fashion statement needs to reflect who you are, you need to feel comfortable with what you are wearing, and in the case of themed photo shoots have fun with your wardrobe, but yet there are a few things you need to consider for your photo shoot to make you look your best:

Avoid horizontal and vertical stripes ~ They might look good on you but not so good on your pictures.
Don’t promote anyone ~ Although is fun to wear your favorite rock band shirt it won’t look nice on your personalized photo session unless you want to promote them through your pictures ;o)
Boys ~ forget about those sleeveless shirts they are so 70’s and won’t make you look good at all! it’s better to go for a nice shirt and jeans or dressing pants.
Girls ~ forget excessive make up and avoid completely intense red lipstick, it won’t look good on your pictures. Is always best to go for earthy tones and soft lipstick colors.
Avoid extremely short skirts ~ I know they came back from the 70’s but yet they can be uncomfortable during the session for the limited mobility they present.
Girls don’t show it all! ~ I was young and sexy and wanted to show it off sometimes with shirts with low necklines and short hemlines but they won’t look too good on your pictures, so try to avoid them as much as possible.
Layers, and more layers! ~ that’s a no-no unless you want to look so 80’s and puffy! Skirts with layers, baggie shirts and pants don’t grace anyone. No matter how perfect your body is they will always make you look larger. Fitted clothing is much better.
Great ideas ~ bring clothe that is comfortable for you, so you can sit, stand, run, jump and roll if you want to.
Boyfriends and Girlfriends ~ as much as you would love to have your boyfriend/girlfriend love of you current life in your photo shoot, is my advice that you avoid them as much as possible. This is your photo session. If you want to bring someone into your forever-album why not your mom or dad or maybe your brother or sister? I’m pretty sure 10 years from now it will make much more sense and you will love it!

You can bring to your session all the changes of clothes you want. If you have doubts bring them all and I’ll help you to achieve your fashion statement. I would also recommend you to bring any props you want to use like your favorite-can’t-live-without boots, cowboy hat, scarf, throw, sunglasses, jackets, necklaces, snowboard, surfboard, your cat and even your dog assuming he won’t bite me ;o)

Other things you would need is make up! a girl can’t go out without make-up! and you need it to retouch your face, so don’t forget about it!

If you are planning to walk barefoot make sure you have some flip-flops handy just in case and some wet towels so you can clean yourself after the session.

The idea is for you to have fun and be relaxed during your photo shoot while surrounding yourself with the things you love the most. This is a time capsule you are building and trust me, 10-20 years from now, you will look at your photo album and the memories of that time will fill your heart and make you smile ;o)
