Tips 4 Brides & Grooms
For your engagement, family or individual portrait you might want to wear the outfit or shoes you just bought, but doesn’t necessarily means they will make you look great on the pictures, so here are some suggestions that you might want to consider before going shopping.
The Good ~
- Wearing outfits in the same color family is a great idea, or wearing colors that complement each other is also a great idea, like for example blue and black, red and black or different tones of the same color, like light green and dark green
- Make sure the clothe and shoes you are wearing are comfortable enough and that would provide you mobility while making you look great
- Jeans and a nice top or shirt is always a great combination and paired with a nice jacket even better!
- Feel free to bring all the things you want to see in your pictures like your favorite boots, hats, necklaces, jackets, sunglasses, etc.
- Make sure to wear fitted clothe, as it makes you look great.
- You can change clothes if you wish. That little black dress or the fabulous top paired with that beautiful skirt should be a must!
- Solid colors are the best way to go when dressing for a photo session.
- For make up try to go for earthy colors and soft tones for lipstick.
- Try to limit the jewelry on your hands to a minimum for your ring pictures to be perfect.
The NOT so Good ~
- Avoid horizontal and vertical stripes and floral patterns ~ They might look good but not so good on your pictures especially if they are too notorious.
- Don’t promote anyone ~ Although is fun to wear your favorite rock band shirt it won’t look nice on your personalized photo session.
- Try to avoid sleeveless shirts especially in your man
- Avoid wearing excessive make up. Extremely red lipstick might not look good in your pictures.
- Avoid extremely short skirts as they might restrain your mobility
- Avoid shirts with short hemlines and low necklines
- Try to avoid clothe with excessive amount of layers or baggie cloth as they will make you look larger. Fitted clothing is much better.
You can bring to your session all the changes of clothes you want. If you have doubts bring them all and I’ll help you out. I would also recommend you to bring any props you want to use like your favorite-can’t-live-without boots, cowboy hat, scarf, throw, sunglasses, jackets, necklaces, your cat and even your dog assuming he won’t bite me ;o)
Other things you would need is make up! a girl can’t go out without make-up! you’ll need it to retouch your make up. If you are wearing high hills make sure to bring a pair of flip-flops or other comfortable shoes to rest your feet in between shots.
Boys, remember to match the color tones of your lady’s outfit.
Take in consideration the location your photo session will take place and dress accordingly.
